Marketing Car Lot Washing to Auto Dealerships

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

For those who own pressure washing companies, mobile car wash businesses or are auto-detailing specialists you may wish to add onsite Car Dealership Washing to your market mix. It is a relatively simple business in that all you are doing is using de-ionized water or RO Reverse Osmosis to rinse the cars clean 2-3 times per week so that they look good on the car sales lots and people will want to buy them.

For such services and depending on the climate, competition and region you can get anywhere from $.55 to $3.00 for each car cleaned and that is good money considering the will hundreds if not thousands of new cars to clean in car wash row. But how do you market such a service you ask?

Well it is simple really all you have to do is tell one of the sales managers of one of the car lots that you want to them to immediately fire whoever is doing it now and hire you. You need a brass balls approach because these sales departments like cockiness and boldness, and you must show no fear whatsoever. Then tell them you will clean for one 3 the front line of their new and used cars sales lots as a demo.

Then if they like it they can hire you at an approved price? No sales manager will turn down free services and this gets you on the lot and the other dealerships near by will see you too and guess what? Well they also need their cars looking spiffy for customers. So, consider this in 2006.

What Every Employee Should Know About How to Maximize His Potential for Success

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

There are countless books that describe success principles. Here are a few principles that I have summarized for you:

* Believe in yourself, your abilities, and in your God-given yet unused talents.

* Have a dream. Write it down as a goal using specific guidelines and setting a realistic deadline by which you will accomplish it.

* Speak in the positive. State everything you say as the glass being half full and come up with your unique plan to fill it.

* Develop your action plan. Use it as a map to help you reach the destination of your dream.

* Use Affirmations. They will help to build your belief in yourself. If you have difficulty finding books with them, create your own.

* Take action NOW! Be persistent! Do something each day to move you closer to the realization of your dream and your goal.

* Associate with successful people. From this collection of experts, select a mentor to guide you along.

* Share yourself with others. Volunteer your time and your talents. Join civic and charitable organizations.

* Develop a sense of humor. Learn to laugh at life; don’t take it too seriously. Begin by laughing at yourself and your mistakes.

* Exercise your creativity. Use your God-given imagination to see problems from a different point of view. They probably won’t seem so big, after all.

* Exercise your body. Exercise keeps the body tone, healthy, and vitalized. Not only will you be keeping yourself healthy, but you will be shedding the extra pounds without realizing it.

* Balance your life. Take comparable amounts of time for fun and relaxation as you do for work and home.

* Change the things you cannot accept. Accept the things you cannot change. Be a doer, not a complainer.

Remember: When you maximize your potential, everyone wins. When you don’t, we all lose.

Training is Not the Same Thing as Exercising

What it takes to GROW!

In almost every workshop we deliver, we try to teach the
principle that the mind is a muscle. What does this mean?
Well, your mind and really your whole life operate on the
same growth and strengthening principles as any muscle
in your body, and almost everyone misunderstands what it
takes to make a muscle grow. Pay attention, here.

I always ask my students “what do you need to do to make a
muscle grow stronger or larger?” They always reply with
great enthusiasm, “You need to EXERCISE!” That is totally
incorrect. You can exercise your muscles all day long and
they will never get one iota stronger. To make a muscle
grow, you must TRAIN that muscle – work it and tax it beyond
what it’s ever done before, and then you must FEED that
muscle with the right balance of nutrients so it can recover
and grow. In fact, muscles don’t grow while you’re working
out. They grow as a RESULT of your workout, but the
growth actually happens while you are resting. I’ll suggest
that your mind and your life are exactly the same. You’ve got
to have both “intense workout” time and proper recovery
time in your life if you want to see growth. How do you do
this?

“Life Workouts”

The main key here is that in your professional life as well as
your physical life, you must push beyond what you are
comfortable with. Working a muscle in a growth-inducing
manner requires some discomfort, even pain. Apply this
principle to the rest of your life. Set goals that are out of your
current reach. Think big! Go someplace you’ve never been.
If you’re a salesperson, make more calls or appointments
in a week than you ever have. PUSH yourself to new levels
of focus and effort. Will this require some discipline?
Absolutely! In fact, it will actually hurt a little. But that kind of
pain is temporary and if you’ll work through it, the growth in
your life and your pocketbook will make you forget that pain
quickly.

“Life Feeding”

If all you do is push with no recovery, growth does not
occur. Quite the opposite, in fact. Once you’ve stretched
your limits, it is important to feed your mind and your life just
like you eat to replenish your strength. Some “recovery tips”
for your Life:

• Celebrate your victories. When something goes right,
when your “pushing beyond” actually gets the results you
desire, enjoy it for a little while! Reward your wins and you
get charged up to want more of them.

• Take time for yourself – by yourself and with those you
love. Quiet time alone for a little bit each week is absolutely
necessary to recharge your batteries. Just as important is
quality time with family or those you care about. This is
often the first thing a busy professional sacrifices, which is
why so many are burned out. It doesn’t need to be tons of
time, but it has to be some.

• Feed your mind systematically. The practice of reading
an inspiring or uplifting book for 15-30 minutes daily is
absolutely the most refreshing and life-changing habit you
can develop.
If you want to grow, you must have BOTH the workout and
the recovery time. Find the balance and growth is
inevitable. Not easy, but inevitable.

Medical volunteer Anthony Loeff is writing about software applications for visually impaired people

Monday, July 28th, 2008

The rest have some vision, from light perception alone to relatively good acuity. Recent versions of Microsoft Windows come with the rather basic Narrator. A screen reader is a software application that attempts to identify and interpret what is being displayed on the screen. The Macintosh OS also comes with a built-in screen reader, called VoiceOver. Web browsers, word processors, icons and windows and email programs are just some of the applications used successfully by screen reader users. This interpretation is then represented to the user with text-to-speech, sound icons, or a braille output. Only a small fraction of this population, when compared to the sighted community, have Internet access.

The movement towards greater web accessibility is opening a far wider number of websites to adaptive technology, making the web a more inviting place for visually impaired surfers. While Apple Mac OS X includes VoiceOver, a more feature-rich screen reader. The primary audience for such applications is those who have difficulty reading because of learning disabilities or language barriers. Next season medical volunteer Anthony Loeff is testing software for people who are blind The open source GNOME desktop environment long included Gnopernicus and now includes Orca. Linux distributions for the blind include Oralux and Adriane Knoppix. There are also open source screen readers, such as the Linux Screen Reader for GNOME and NonVisual Desktop Access for Windows.

The console-based Oralux Linux distribution ships with three screen-reading environments: Emacspeak, Yasr and Speakup. Therefore functionality remains limited compared to equivalent desktop applications, the major benefit is to increase the accessibility of said websites. The latter developed in part by Knopper who has a visual impairment. Almost 4 percent of those deemed legally blind, by any measure, have no vision.

Screen readers are a form of assistive technology potentially useful to people who are blind, visually impaired, or learning disabled, often in combination with other AT such as screen magnifiers. Further, using a screen reader is, according to some users, considerably more difficult than using a GUI and many applications have specific problems resulting from the nature of the application. Access technology such as screen readers and Screen magnifiers enable the blind to use mainstream computer applications. Most legally blind people 64 percent do not use computers. Screen reader choice is contentious: differing priorities and strong preferences are common. More and more, screen readers are being bundled with operating system distributions. Screen readers can be assumed to be able to access all display content that is not intrinsically inaccessible.

Later versions of Microsoft Windows include an Accessibility Wizard and Magnifier for those with partial vision, and Microsoft Narrator, a simple screen reader.

A persons choice of screen reader is dictated by many factors, including platform and the role of organizations like charities, schools, and employers.

Experimental approaches in sensory substitution are beginning to provide access to arbitrary live views from a camera.

History of Infomercials

Friday, July 25th, 2008

It all began in the 1980’s. Ronald Regan was president and one of the many controversial things he did in that office was to deregulate the TV industry. Why did he do it? Well, as a conservative Republican he lived and breathed by the “free market rule,” which stated that the government didn’t belong in business, and businesses should live and die by the success or failure of their own practices and market forces.

At the same time, cable TV was just starting its expansion into the American television marketplace, and that opened up a huge broadcast venue which simply didn’t exist beforehand. Anybody with any experience in the broadcast industry was starting his own channel and pretty soon cable channels were commonplace. The most successful channels at the time were religious based channels which were basically used for fundraising purposes. There were literally hundreds of them, from local, small time reverends and ministers with dubious backgrounds, to nationally broadcast spiritual and religious shows, utilizing well-known religious figures.

At this point, two things happened. For one, many of the young, fledgling channels and networks who counted on ad revenue to keep themselves afloat attracted less than stellar ratings and starting going under. And at the same time, the religious channels started to realize that their fundraising efforts were failing miserably in the late evening and wee hours of the morning.

Cheap broadcast space was born! And enterprising businessmen, more like vultures than saviors, swooped down and began to chew on the dying carcasses of the young cable industry, buying up blocks of cheap, late night, off peak broadcast time and running 30 minute or 60 minute, inexpensively produced commercials refashioned as entertainment programs.

Pretty soon there were infomercial superstars. Celebrities, as well as a cast of unknowns, found fame and fortune in the newly created infomercial industry. There was Jane Fonda who captured lightening in a bottle with her exercise tapes simultaneously boosting the video business along with the infomercial business. There was Ron Popeil, who marketed every gadget and device people didn’t even know they needed and made the switch from printed contact to electronic contact so successfully he’s still doing it today. And there was Kenny Kingston who made the Psychic Hotline into one of the largest businesses in the world without even having anything to sell! Only in America and only in infomercials could such overwhelming success happen so quickly.

Soon, everybody with an idea was trying to come up with the next big thing. As is always the case with any new industry, immediately following the initial success there comes a huge wave of imitators and innovators trying to cash in. And as always happens – most fail. There was such a huge crush of wannabes flooding into the business that production rates skyrocketed and broadcast time became more and more expensive and less and less available. Almost overnight, the infomercial industry went from nothing to today’s enviable haul of billions of dollars annually. And that’s just in America. Successful infomercials, like Hollywood movies are translated into foreign languages and played all around the globe especially when they are celebrity driven.

The newly created infomercial industry was the precursor to the Home Shopping Network and QVC which are essentially 24 hour mini infomercials, product driven, price driven and celebrity driven. And now we have The Infomercial Channel – 24 hours a day of infomercials. Gone are the days of loud mouthed hucksters, snake oil salesmen yelling into the camera, hawking the latest “it slices! it dices!” home improvement device. Today, infomercials are slick, expensive and if they work, highly profitable.

Guinea Pig History

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

Their scientific name is Cavia Tschuldi and their nickname
in South America where they were first discovered, is”Cavy.
As you might have guessed Guinea Pigs are rodents.

Near the Andes Mountains in Peru over a thousand years ago , some Inca Indians were exploring near the tall grass on
the edge of a forest, when they found dozens of little hairy creatures scampering around.

The fat little animals when they bent down to pick them up
did not bite or even seem to mind . The Incas soon
learned that the cavies or cuy, were wild but safe animals, who liked to hide in tall grass away from the hungry owls and other predators that they were easy prey to.

They searched out burrows and homes made by rabbits or snakes or other creatures and made these spaces their home.
When it was night and dark, they would wander out to find food. Wild guinea pigs live all over South America from Argentina to Columbia.
Some scientists say that the Inca Indians were the first to tame the wild guinea pigs, but other scientists think
that even prehistoric people as far back as 5000 B.C. were keeping guinea pigs as pets and raising them as a source of food.

If you would like to know more about guinea pigs as pets, why not get a copy of my book at

A Healthy Dose Of Trust Works Wonders With Your Email List

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

While the rest of the world have developed many barriers and protection to keep their email accounts spam-free, there are also those that sign up to receive emails that promote various products, and services and their sites. This is mainly because these opt in subscribers wants to know more about what these sites are offering and can be beneficial for them. They expect to be kept posted on what they are interested in and whats new in the market or field they have chosen.

Businesses would be so lucky to have these kinds of customers, the basic element needed to get these type of people is, trust. When your customers trust you, they will reward you with their loyalty. Many internet users have gone to great lengths in protecting their email accounts from spam mail. Some free-mail internet providers and internet service providers offer spam protection while there are also some internet based companies that screen your mails for you.

With an opt in subscriber mail list, the email you send containing your promotional materials such as newsletters, catalogs and marketing media will go through. Your intended recipient will be able to read and view what you have sent, making it a successful transfer of information. To be able to be allowed to do so, you will need permission from your recipient, to get this permission; you need to be able to get their trust. With the great lack of disregard for privacy in the internet, getting the trust of an internet user, you do not personally know is a big achievement.

To build a good opt in subscriber list you need people to trust you, for a faster and quicker build up, you need to get your opt in subscribers to trust you quickly. The faster you build your opt in list the faster word about your site and company gets to be spread. The bigger the scope of your opt in list the more traffic you get, which means more profits. Its easy maths if you think about it. Getting the numbers is not that simple though, or maybe it is?

Getting the trust of your clientele should not be so hard, especially if you do have a legitimate business. Getting your customers trust should be based upon your expertise. People rely on other people who know what they are talking about. Gather all the knowledge and information about your business. Frankly if you decide to go into a business, you most probably already have an interest in it. Like how many basketball players become coaches, you don’t really venture into something you don’t have any interest in.

Show your clients that you know what you are talking about. Provide them with helpful hints and guidelines that pertain to what you are selling. Talk about how to install a roof if you’re selling roofing materials or provide articles on insurance settlements if you are a settlement lawyer. You do not have to be a big corporation to make use of an opt in list. If your customers see you as someone who knows what he is doing and saying, they will trust you quickly.

Be true to your customers, if you want to hype up your products and services, provide guarantees. The more satisfied customers you get, the bigger probability there is, that they will recommend you. Generally, people will trust someone they know, when that someone recommends you, then you’re a shoo-in. They will go to your site and check it for themselves and be given a chance to experience what the others have experienced from you, so make sure to be consistent in the service you provide.

Another tip in getting a customer to trust you quickly is to provide them an escape hatch. Show them that you are not there to trap them. Keep a clean list that would enable them to unsubscribe anytime they want. Elaborate your web form by providing information on how to unsubscribe from the list. Guarantee them that they can let go of the service when ever they want to. Many are wary that they may be stuck for life and would have to abandon their email accounts when they get pestered with spam.

Remember that when you get the trust of your clients do not lose that trust. Because if you do anything with their email addresses like sell them or give them out, you will lose many members of your list as well as potential members. The true quickest way to gain the trust of your subscribers is when you are recommended by someone they trust.

Microsoft CRM Integration with IBM Lotus Notes Domino – machinery dealership example

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

IBM Lotus Notes with Domino email server is traditional document workflow management solution for large corporate business, where you need audit trail on approval cycle and decision making. Microsoft Business Solutions CRM is very cost efficient solution to automate sales process. It might be surprising, but we see good strata of clients who are willing to deploy and integrate both systems: MS CRM and Lotus Domino. In our opinion these clients are balancing ERP platform risks and trying to protect and deploy investments into Lotus licenses, while deploying new and already leading CRM solution – Microsoft CRM. In this small article we’ll give you the integration example – European division of one of the well known machinery manufacturer dealership network.

• Custom Lotus Database. In our case client had custom database, which was designed back in the beginning of 1990th. Some dealers had Lotus Notes Domino 4.0 and some of them had 6.0 and 6.5. Technical excurse – in Lotus Notes Domino 6.0 you can use Java 2 agents, and it seems to be platform independent (Microsoft Windows Server, IBM AS/400). To synch all the dealerships – the decision was made to upgrade across the network to Lotus Notes Domino 6.0 (to be a bit conservative)

• Domino Messaging. Obviously you have to have just one email server assigned to your url domain, and as traditionally Lotus Domino was the email server – the replacement with Microsoft Exchange 2003 (which is natural choice if you purchase Microsoft CRM) was not an option. With Alba Spectrum Technologies MS CMR Lotus Notes Domino connector you can switch email messaging to Lotus Domino

• Lotus & MS CRM events synchronization. IBM and Microsoft software designers designed CRM & Lotus events differently. Second phase of the project implementation will synchronize appointments, calendar events, etc. between Lotus and MS CRM.

• MS CRM ODBC lookups to Lotus database. As the second phase we plan to implement lookups from MS CRM Account to cases with custom fields and Lotus notes lookup tab. This tab will be realized as web .net application, integrated into MS CRM web interface. This web application will have machine serial number, warranty & service info. As you probably know in MS CRM 3.0 you can deploy custom table in link it to MS CRM object as one-to-many. The most important is that it will be synchronized by MS Outlook and will allow you as a salesperson to work offline.

You can always have us help you with MS CRM customization, implementation, support & MS CRM SDK data conversion. Give us a call: 866.528.0577 or 1.630.961.598, help@albaspectrum.com

Zero Cost Marketing Channel

Monday, July 14th, 2008

To those that are not that familiar with this free marketing channel, allow me to share with you on why article publishing and distributing is still a great option as to online marketing. It is in fact a great channel in helping you to get some degree of recognition on the virtual world.

From my own experience, I could find my articles in the 3 big SE, which link back to my sites. This is indeed a great deal for free marketing channel. Nevertheless, compare to the professional authors, I have honestly yet to really make full utilization of the power for this online marketing channel. Hopefully I could spend more time and do more.

Generally, there are several main great benefits in writing, publishing, and distributing your own articles out to the online world. Let’s share them here:

1. SE Marketing

For my self, this is the very main factor as to why I write and publish articles. Most of my sites are newly established. As we aware, newly build sites will have to build up its traffic channels step by step unless you are willing to spend bucks on marketing and advertising activities.

For me poor little fellow here, I could not afford spending that kind of resources for that. So I opt for this free marketing channel. As I continue to learn, it comes to my knowledge that by submitting to all those article directories could actually help in getting both your name and your website included in the SE.

Especially for the big Google especially, it is always on the lookup for fresh and new contents. So, if you are intending to promote your business, and you are targeting more traffic via Google, then you should really consider this marketing channel. It is a great marketing tool to build up your business from zero bases.

2. Website Publicity

When you are getting more skills in articles writing and able to produce good quality write up, there are a lot of webmasters will come to pick your articles up. What they do with it then? Very likely your articles will get the chance to be re-published and re-print on their own website.

When your articles get this kind of special treatment, your resources box will also be included in the re-publication which means your website address would also be included in the publications. This would definitely increase your website exposure and receive more publicity which anyone on the internet would want to! This is an important factor in marketing strategy online.

When your articles begin to get into the eye and attention of more established ezine publishers, then you would just be surprised when one day it may just be receiving publicity way before you would aware.

3. Website Branding and Credibility

As we are more into own website niche market or segment, concentrated on your own niche area too. As you continue to sharpen your skills, and produce high quality write up, you will be regarded as the expert in your main targeted segment.

When your articles write up are more onto a niche segment, and the contents are timely and responsive to online environment changes with relevant information, you could be getting “special treatment” by certain article publishing sites! They might just create a niche category in their site specifically to accommodate your field of expertise.

Yes, it’s true! People will get to know that you are able to produce good quality write up. They might even be seeking your field of expertise and your niche subject that you concentrate into. And well, this is of definite gives you more credibility.

When you reach that stage, you will be able to brand yourself along with your own website for that niche segment. When people are looking for certain information on your field of topic, you could become top author for the article sites.

4. Network Layers
RSS (Really Simple Syndication)

• As this technology getting it foot firmly in content updating, almost majority of article publishing directories would offer such RSS or XML content feeds from their sites. When other webmaster that needs such niche content as your articles, they would run the RSS feeds on their sites. This is another layer of network publishing which would brings your articles beyond the first publishing network layer.

• As more re-publishing goes on, your articles could continue to reach more sites and much more readers which you might not even be able to track the channel effectively! But not to worry, this will only bring you good more than bad!

Blogs Craze Exposure

• The biggest craze these days is indeed the blogging! There are so many people using blogs to express themselves. Some of them are on general subject; some are more toward a specific niche segment. For those that are into more specific subject, they will be always on the urge to keep their blogs updated with fresh contents.

• If your write up fit nicely into these niche segments, those “Bloggers” could want to re-print your article in their blogs. And again your resources box with your website address would provide linking back to your own website.

After viewing thru the above, some of you may be wondering, what would happen after the initial publishing and thereafter re-publishing’s wave of my articles? Not to worry much, your article would always be in those sites in archive. Meaning the link back would also be there too. Majority of sites also have search function on their sites. This makes it pretty easy for others to reach your earlier articles.

What’s now? Continue to focus on your Zero Cost Marketing Channel!

Get Your Business listed in Biz Network Directory for business leads. Network sites consist Web Resources Search and Business Info Center are also business platforms.
