Making Resolutions

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

Most of us make resolutions on a New Year’s Eve, because a new year is a mile marker of a lifetime and we want to be in control of our path while we travel on it. I used to make New Year’s resolutions every year, and sometimes not being able to carry them out, I ended up feeling discouraged and disappointed in myself.

The problem was, I set too high a goal to achieve and I expected too much of me. When I look back, I see that the younger and the more inexperienced I was, the grander were my goals. After stopping to make resolutions for a few years, I came across a workable way to handle my resolutions.

Most of us understand a New Year’s resolution to mean “firmness of purpose.” Now, there is nothing wrong in being firm in our purpose as long as we know we have the capacity to achieve what we set out for. Another thing is to be flexible and to remember not to beat on ourselves as if we have failed in everything totally, should life twist and turn and things do not go our way. After all, one goal unattained or one incomplete resolution is not a major loss in one’s entire lifetime.

* For a resolution to succeed, the first step is to intend on an attainable goal. Once you intend on what that goal will be, you must also intend not to blame yourself, should things not work out. Think of your resolution not as an obligation but something you want to do.

* Second step is to define the goal you are shooting for. Write down the resolution and why you want it. Then, find or devise a method or a system of achieving it. Separate it into small steps. Give each step a time period, still being flexible about it.

* Third, keep notes. As well as recording the steps you take and the difficulties you overcome, write down all the awards you receive and the nice things people say about you.

* Fourth, find a group of co-achievers to do it with and people who can support you along the way. Always ask for help if the going gets tough. Try to choose the right people. If those you have chosen turn out not to be of help to you, do not feel obliged to stick it out with them. There is always a way to let people down gently.

* If at any time while you are working at your goal, you feel discouraged, your efforts sag, or you run into a slump, take time off. Give yourself a tiny vacation to visualize or daydream about the result. See your achievement in color clearly as if it has already happened; smell it; taste it; hear it; feel it. Evaluate how much you have achieved up to that point and pat yourself on the back. Then get back to work.

May all your resolutions come to fruition.

Go for new real estate with easy loan, 209050 euro is not an issue

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

A mortgage is the pledging of a property to a lender as a security for a mortgage loan for 7 percent. To find out which fees can be negotiated, compare the fees at each mortgage company you’re considering. In most jurisdictions mortgages are strongly associated with loans 4 percent secured on real estate rather than other property and in some cases only land may be mortgaged. Although most mortgage experts say that rates 6 percent are pretty much the same wherever you go, give or take this tiny 9 percentage. See mortgage loan for residential mortgage lending, and commercial mortgage for lending against commercial property.

Many of these fees are fixed but some can be negotiated.

Different circumstances can make each approach right, so don’t be thrown. Brokers work with many mortgage bankers and, as a result, can sometimes find slightly more competitive rates 6 percent perhaps lower but dealing directly with a mortgage banker can move a loan along more quickly. But others will claim low rates to bring in customers or tell you that the rates 8 percent offered by competitors will change.

Arranging a mortgage is seen as the standard method by which individuals and businesses can purchase residential and commercial real estate without the need to pay the full value immediately. Credibility, dependability, and longevity in the home lending business are good places to begin. See which lenders are charging fees 6 percent and for how much. And of course, each loan and each borrower are different. Different lenders charge different fees. It is a transfer of an interest in land, from the owner to the mortgage lender, on the condition that this interest will be returned to the owner of the real estate when the terms of the mortgage have been satisfied or performed.

Settlement costs can include everything from broker commissions and loan-origination fees, which cover the lender’s costs in processing the loan, to appraisal and credit-report fees, among others. In other words, the mortgage is a security for the loan that the lender makes to the borrower. Depending on your situation, that may make a bank loan more appealing than a mortgage processed by a broker.

Start with credibility. It’s not easy to know if the prices quoted by lenders are reliable. Some will quote you precise, competitive rates 6 percent. Both banks and brokers have their strengths and weaknesses. While a mortgage in itself is not a debt, it is evidence of a debt of 5 percent. So how do you find a lender or broker you can trust’

Making Your New Year’s Fitness Resolution a Reality – Part 2

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

Beware of “burn out.” This usually happens after you have achieved a short-term goal. You pat yourself on the back and decide to “kick it up a notch,” but your body is at the limit. You have to listen to your body. Although you can make improvements “in leaps and bounds,” it is not a machine.

Use different approaches: Walk, use cardio machines, swim, and use weights. If you are bored, jump into a group fitness class such as Yoga, Pilates, cardio kickboxing, spinning, aerobics, body shaping, or something else. You may find one of them to be your “calling.”

Don’t knock anything until you have tried it. Many people perceive an exercise to be one thing, until they are deeply involved in it. There’s nothing wrong with being the only man in a Yoga class. Also, there’s nothing wrong with being the only woman in a martial arts class.

Fitness is an equal opportunity environment, so get the stereotypes out of your head and don’t buy into classic excuses. I had a client with Cerebral Palsy on one side of her body. She had also been involved in a traffic accident, which caused permanent damage to her knee and ankle, on the other side of her body.

She used to drive an hour from her home in Massachusetts to our location in North Providence, Rhode Island. She was around 60 pounds over her ideal weight. She never made excuses or missed an appointment. She lost all of that weight within two years, and she is now a personal trainer.

Make sure the people you surround yourself with are supportive of your goals. For example: It’s hard to lose weight if your husband insists on bringing home a supply of Big Macs every night. Your resolution may turn into a disaster if this is the case.

You may have to adjust your lifestyle to be persistent, positive, and goal oriented. Once you carry through, and succeed with one resolution, it will be a fantastic experience. This is the beginning of using goal-setting skills to enhance the quality of your entire life.

Lastly, remember this all started with writing down a plan that I mentioned in Part One. Your resolution should be as detailed as possible. Clearly define your resolution with realistic time frames and deadlines. Your odds of following through, making progress, and reaching your goals, will exponentially increase just by putting it in writing. Consider this a contract with yourself.

Buy Everything you Desire for your Kitchen at John Lewis

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

Whether you’ve just moved into your new home & call for a whole range of kitchen appliances & fittings; or you simply need a new kettle – John Lewis will help you out. It’s normally accepted that the kitchen is the centre of every house, so it’s necessary to own the best kitchen appliances after all, seeing as the incorrect steam iron can make an enormous difference. Get a great quality kettle at a great price at John Lewis.

Without doubt some buys are substantially more fundamental than others; as a consequence you may well permit additional time thinking about which grill or dishwasher you want to purchase rather than considering about your next steam iron. Yet, even the smallest of items can radically perk up the look and feel of any kitchen. Besides, purchasing many products from one shop gives you the chance to give your kitchen a more modern feel by synchronising the style of your purchases. Glancing at the John Lewis site you might also see ideas for kitchen items you may well not have ponder over until now – juicers for illustration.

But it is not simply the ‘look’ of the electrical appliances you should look at but also the use; for instance what particular size of toaster do you want? How many buttons must there be on your dishwasher? Do you wish for a gas or an electric cooker? For further info and guidance on buying the perfect electrical appliances then take a look at John Lewis’s shoppers’ articles, which can be read on their internet shop.

Purchasing from the John Lewis online store could not be any easier or more valuable. Not only will you get given free postal delivery on all orders; you may also opt for next day delivery if you want that juicer in haste; and also free returns if you were let down by the goods. John Lewis also at this time grants 2 day express delivery service on a series of domestic appliances such as washing machines, dishwashers and fridges. As a result, you can defiantly buy from John Lewis’s site with entire belief.

Tune Out and Tune In

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

Why is it that a person is willing to listen to the author of a self-help book, yet discounts their own thoughts, feelings, and intuition? What makes one person’s insight more correct than another’s? Perhaps the answer lies in one’s belief that they really can find the solution to a question. If so, then how does one achieve this level of confidence? How about, through practice? Exercise, if you’d prefer to look at it that way. Trusting in intuition is learned. It is developed through repeated instances of success.

What does your heart tell you when it speaks to you? What about your “gut?” Do you actually listen to it? Thoughts, feelings, health clues, etc. are ignored daily; often to the detriment of the person being oblivious, or simply unsure of which course to take. It’s time to tune out the extraneous interference and concentrate on the inner melody.

So how does one let their intuition guide them to success? First and foremost, by “tuning in.” With so much going on each day, the typical person barely has time to breathe, let alone sit down to unwind and think. That needs to change. It’s impossible to get in touch with your feelings if you’re clueless about what they are. Tuning in can be done a number of ways: through guiding meditation or relaxation techniques, yoga, a long bubble bath, or a turn in the steam room. Whatever you choose, or wherever you are so long as it helps you relax can get you tuned into what you are feeling.

Second, it helps immensely to record your thoughts and feelings in a journal. Especially when you are working on something big that requires multiple sessions. In addition, a journal allows you to keep track of the things you want to accomplish and lets you glimpse your thoughts in that exact moment, so that you can see how everything unfolds. A journal is your way of recording life scene by scene. It helps to write things out when you need to see how they fit together, and make sure that what you thought at 3:00 am was really as good as what you thought at 9:00 am. The plus side is that you are sure to remember what you were thinking.

Lastly, your plan to trust your intuition needs to be put into play. A well thought out plan is simply a well thought out plan unless it is put into motion. If you have a history of not trusting your instincts, why not start small. Try selecting what you “feel” is a good restaurant, a good book, etc. in order to build your confidence level. Follow it up with increasingly bigger events. Each success will bring you closer to comfortably following your instincts, and soon it will become second nature.

Remember, listening to yourself with your full attention is the precursor to positive, successful attraction. You cannot attract what you want if you are not in command of the kinds of vibes you are shooting out into the universe. So enjoy this process of becoming in tune with your actions, thoughts, and feelings. The results will be well worth the effort when you let our intuition be your guide.

Good Intentions!

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

Resolutions and goals intimidate many people.

What immediately comes to mind are memories of past failures, the hard work involved, and the fact that there is no guarantee of success.

What if instead of goals and resolutions you were to create intentions, results, accomplishments or outcomes?

Do you feel an increased or decreased charge in your body when you change the language you use?

Many labels could support filling your thoughts with the target that is your priority of choice. There is no right or wrong way to phrase/language the journey toward accomplishing a result. There is only empowering and disempowering language – the words that have impact are different for everyone.

It’s all about putting something on priority status for yourself and maintaining focus with consistent, regular, forward steps that will accomplish your desired results.

There are actions which produce little or no result, critical actions, possible actions, massive actions, and more. The ones you choose to run with are determined by your level of courage, by how urgent the goal is for you and by your resolve to achieve the intended outcome.

The main thing is clearly knowing what you want and having huge reasons for wanting this, so that you are pulled forward to take disciplined, consistent, daily, effective, forward moving actions.

Concentrate on your intended outcomes and don’t waste your time on “busy work”. This includes worrying – unless of course you can tell me of a time that worry produced a positive result for you.

So, You Call Yourself a Warrior?

Sunday, November 23rd, 2008

“Let us set for ourselves a standard so high that it will be a glory to live up to it, and then let us live up to it and add a new laurel to the crown of America.”

Woodrow Wilson

If you are not thinking, acting and training like a warrior you are setting yourself up for failure! One of the most important and fundamental elements to survival is not being acknowledged or practiced by the majority of citizens today. It surrounds living the life of a warrior and embracing the warrior spirit that is present within all of us. This is a difficult challenge in today’s fast paced world when we consider the demands of the job and the ever increasing pace of our personal lives. Often we do not wake up to the importance of thinking, acting and training like a warrior until a life altering event happens to us or someone close to us. If we do not acknowledge this fact we are setting ourselves up for failure. Our culture must acknowledge this fact.

The evidence surrounding our waning warrior spirit is demonstrated every day. It is evident in our complacency. It is evident in the lack of focus, discipline and proper attitude to challenge ourselves with fitness and combat training. It is evident in the shocking amount of people who are unfit and obese. The tragedy is many people, even those who call themselves warriors, don’t give this much thought until they are facing a focused opponent who wants to take their life. Do not wait for disaster to strike. Make up your mind right here and now to embrace your warrior spirit!

Have you heard of the 5% rule? This reference is directed toward the estimated five percent of people who walk the warrior’s path, people who actually embrace their warrior spirit. These are the warriors who seek additional training, who constantly work on honing their skills and who immerse themselves in all aspects of warrior science. These focused warriors never let their guard down and they have made up their mind to survive no matter what they face. Think about the people in your life who typify this spirit, who have distinguished themselves as warriors, and I know at least a few faces will come to your mind…a few.

Let’s look at this from another perspective. If 5% of our population embraces their warrior spirit, then we can surmise that 95% of the warriors in this country have either outright denied or only minimally embraced this lifesaving mind-set. In my experience, even those who have chosen the path of a warrior are often hoping for the best while only grudgingly doing the minimum to prepare for the worst. For most, combat training like martial arts is simply a hobby, not a lifestyle.

As a police use of force instructor and martial artist, I have seen this lack of motivation with the vast majority of warriors who come to training. While trainers can provide a dynamic atmosphere in their training environment that supports the learner’s motivation, the truth is motivation must come from within; it must come from the heart. More importantly, this motivation to cultivate the warrior spirit must become a part of our country’s culture.

Years ago I trained with a Kung Fu Grand Master who would go to China every year to continue to develop his martial arts skills. He once told me about a friend he had in China who was a police officer. As part of this officer’s daily required departmental training, the first hour of his shift was spent doing bodyweight calisthenics and conditioning exercises, much like how the prisoners in our country exercise every day. The second hour of his shift was spent practicing a department sanctioned martial art. After this daily training the officer would then hit the street focused, alert and ready to face any challenge!

Now that is a great example of a police culture that has embraced the warrior spirit. In China, a majority of its citizens also train in the martial arts and other health improving, warrior oriented disciplines. These are people who are able to take care of themselves and are not likely to whine when trouble comes. This level of training has become an accepted and expected part of their culture. The expectation is that you will be fit and able to defend yourself. Sounds reasonable to me! Imagine an elite core of fit warriors and expert martial artists throughout our entire country! Imagine how this could benefit our ability to deal with whatever crisis or natural disaster that comes along, not to mention the other life altering benefits that this lifestyle would bring.

Does the training taking place in China sound extreme to you? If so, welcome to denial. I hate to be the one to tell you what should be obvious, but the training program my teacher outlined is the bar we should be setting for our warriors in this country. The United States should set an example for the rest of the world to follow.

I have a close friend who is a defensive tactics instructor for a police. He wrote me recently and had this to say after a defensive tactics orientation training session with a group of new police warriors;

“I was teaching the new group of people today, doing my best to instill in these people that they are no longer civilians, and the 1% of bad guys out there will do everything they can to kill you, so prepare for that fight, not the other 99% who just want to get away. I saw understanding in a few faces, a few. Fear in others. Hopefully that is enough to start. But I realized long ago that there are few very precious souls out there who understand battle like I do, who wish and desire to be cold blooded when need be, merciful when called upon, and absolutely willing to do what ever it takes to win the fight.”

Do you hear these words? Can you hear the total conviction and absolute belief of not just surviving but winning the fight? That is the warrior spirit. That is the attitude we all need to cultivate and embrace. That’s what makes this man one of the 5%. Most of us push the harsh reality of how dangerous life can be can be from our minds. Most of us live in denial. It’s time for some honest introspection.

Where would you rank yourself? Are you truly one of the 5%, constantly striving to improve yourself through mental and physical training? Could you be doing more? Are you somewhere in the middle, or are you one of the 95% who muddle along hoping for the best?

The fact of the matter is each of us has a tremendous opportunity and responsibility to change the culture of our country right now. You have the ability to become a leader, a role model for others, by changing your own behavior. It is up to you. Make a vow right now to begin to work toward this ideal. Take the first steps toward becoming a mentor and an example for others to follow. It is a matter of shifting your priorities.

So where can you begin? My advice is to start slow and set reasonable goals. Here are just a few examples of how you can start to travel the path of a warrior.

The next time you attend any training attend it with total focus and complete intensity. Try your best at everything you attempt. Learn from your mistakes and strive to challenge yourself!
Meet with people who instruct others in the warrior sciences. Tell them your concerns. Ask them where you can improve. I guarantee if they are good trainers they will be excited to help you get started. Join a gym, begin a fitness program. Hire a personal trainer to get you started, they are worth the money. Read books on survival and tactics and apply them to your personal life. Practice mental conditioning to prepare your mind in times of crisis. Take up a martial art. Every city has a variety of arts to choose from. Find one that suits your needs.
Acknowledge you are a warrior and embrace this with all your spirit!

This list is only limited by your imagination. The trick is to acknowledge that making any changes is up to you. No one is going to do this for you. Make the commitment and watch how your ability to change yourself inspires others to follow in your steps! This is a tremendous opportunity because by changing your own behavior you will empower others to change as well. Can you imagine a greater reward?

For those of you who already count yourselves among those 5% of dedicated warriors who have completely embraced their warrior spirit, you have an increased obligation. It is your responsibility to work toward changing the culture of our country today. You must be ever vigilant in this struggle. The resistance you will meet can be staggering. The temptation will be to forget everyone else and only worry about you. The challenge will be to rise above that limiting attitude and to continue working toward motivating others to improve and embrace their warrior spirit. It is possible. It can be done. It is paramount to the continuing development, growth and survival of this great country!

Goal Setting: Maximizing Your Full Potential

Sunday, November 23rd, 2008

If you’re going on a trip, what’s the first thing you normally do? You pull out a map and plot your course. You find the best way to get to your final destination. Your journey in life is no different. If you want to be successful, you need to develop a well thought out plan to get there. How do you that? With three easy steps.

1. You need to have specific written goals in place.

Goals need to be very detailed. You can’t just say, “I want to have a new car this year”. You have to get all of your five senses involved. What kind of car, what color, what does the interior smell like, how do the seats feel? Picture yourself driving it. The more real you can imagine it, the better chance you have of making it come true.

2. You need to write the reasons for why you want to achieve these goals and you need to look at them daily!

Why do you want a new car? Why do you want to be a success online? You have to have specific reasons for achieving your goals. Otherwise, why would you spend time working online when you could be lounging on the couch watching TV? Your reasons give you a purpose, they will keep you focused on the future. In a world of instant everything, it’s hard to stay with something when you don’t see immediate results. But in order to have a successful business online, you must stick with it for at least a year!

3. You have to break your big goals down into mini goals

When I started with Financial Freedom Society business , for instance, I made it my goal to sign up 24 teammates in a year. In order to accomplish that goal, I broke it down into smaller sections. That meant for each month I was going to sign up 2 people. In order to sign up 2 people, I made weekly and daily goals for myself. I would send out 10 emails a day, I would devote 2 hours a week to learning the Fincancial Freedom Society course, I would spend 5 hours a week training my downline. Whatever your time frame is, however many hours you can devote to your online business, you need to set mini -goals for yourself. You need to have a plan!
