The Best Drink in the Caribbean
Friday, July 31st, 2009Thanks to our friend Josh we ended up spending one whole evening checking out a couple of bars in Grand Cayman. Josh, my boyfriend works as a bartender back home and challenged all of us that he put together the best refreshing beverages as compared to the stuff put together by the locals on the island. He does do a great job as far as mixing his drinks is concerned, but we were a bit skeptical about his claims that he was the best. We decided to take up his challenge and one evening set out to check out the bars in the area.
We decided to visit the My Bar at Sunset House in Grand Cayman. As we were staying at Sunset House it was convenient for us to check out this bar. The staff at the hotel told us that this was one of the best bars on the island and had also won a number of prestigious awards such as the “Best Bar in the Caribbean” by Caribbean Travel & Life. We were six of us who tried out the refreshing beverages at the bar. All of us agreed that the refreshing beverages here were excellent, but nothing compared to the stuff put together by Josh.
That evening we also tried out the refreshing beverages at the Kaibo Beach Bar and Grill. The drinks they put together were really nice but again nothing here tasted as good as Josh’s concoctions. After the Kaibo Beach Bar and Grill we also went to a bar close by, but were really disappointed with the stuff we drank there.
By this time we were fed-up. However my friend Tina, who is quite persistent, insisted that we visit one last bar before heading back to our rooms. The Lone Star Bar and Grill was our last destination. We decided to have a couple of burgers and order some refreshing beverages as well. Josh as usual was the first one to sip his drink. He looked pretty amazed and raised a toast to the best drink he had tasted in his life.
