The Generous Man Responsible for the Incredible Success of the Blackstone Group

If you have not come across Steve Schwarzman, you’ll find this captivating. Only last year Steve placed number fifty three on the list of the most wealthy people in the United States of America, even so it’s his phenomenal rise to power in the business and finance sector and his donations to non profit organizations which make this story so interesting. All this illustrate that the most valuable qualities in a successful life are devoted work and, of course, focused dedication.

Steve Schwarzman and Peter Peterson set up the private-equity and financial advisory firm Blackstone Group in the mid-eighties. The firm has developed swiftly and these days is a global player in M & A.

Having called the Philadelphia suburban area home for much of his childhood and adolescence, Stephen A. Schwarzman went to high school in the School District of Abington. When he finished high school Steve was accepted for undergraduate study at Yale University. Harvard Business School was the next step in his education, where he graduated in 1972. Afterwards he became part of the team at Lehman Brothers. By his thirty-second birthday Steve was already a managing director. Steve doesn’t solely offer his time to a wide range of not-for-profit organizations, but in addition he has also been a part-time professor at Yale. To further illustrate his wide spectrum of activities, he is the Chairman to the Board of Trustees at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in New York, New York. Furthermore, he announced with pride in Spring of 2008 that he was bequeathing $100 million to the New York Public Library to help them enlarge their capacity. He is also one of the trustees of the library. It is not surprising that Stephen A. Schwarzman is acknowledged as one of America’s elite: Times Magazine in 2008 appointed Stephen A. Schwarzman as one of the 100 most influential people alive today. His swift rise in the business and financial industries is nothing short of amazing, and coupled with his willingness to give to the community through his unstinting donations to the liberal arts and education programs is positively inspiring to those people who are inspired by him.

With all his knowledge and commitment, it would seem like there isn’t anything he cannot conquer. In summary, Steve has taken advantage of every single opportunity that came his way, but in return he has in the same stride employed his money to give his best to better the lives of his fellow Americans.
